CONGRATULATIONS
If members wish to pass on their congratulations to any other Druids please contact your Secretary who will take details and post them on this web page.
Congratulations to Robin Thompson for his recent win in the Autumnal Druids Golf Day held at Scarcroft Golf Club on Friday 5th October. His 37 point total was just enough to take the trophy (on count back) from the evergreen President Ian Black. Full details can be found on the Golf Page.
Congratulations to perky Druids fan Gail Porter. Much to the dismay of her many admirers (down Crofty!) she has recently married Toploader bass guitarist Mr Dan Hipgrave. We wish them both all the best for the future and hope that Gail will continue to take a keen interest in Druids Cricket.
Congratulations at last to Mathew "Billy" Smart who has finally got his hands on the sought after Druids Golf Trophy. "Billy", who has finished second on many occasions, stormed to a well deserved win in the meeting, held this year at the Knaresborough Golf Club.
Congratulations to John and Jill Myers for the news of their impending arrival. Lets hope it looks like the mother.
Congratulations to Capt. Eaden for his magnificent win in the Autumnal Druids Trophy. 39 points from a 15 handicap deservedly beat a mixed bag of competitors.
Congratulations also to Big John Yates and Hugh "Huge" Thompson for there excellent victory in the Wertheimer Cup in the afternoon.
Lastly, its congratulations to Jim from the Coach & Horses for collecting both the Champagne Moment prize and the Bernhard Langer tape for the Druid needing to improve his golf the most.
Congratulations are due to the team recording the first Hole in One in the history of the Druids Golfing Society. The team, brilliantly captained by Mr John Monaghan, secured the historic moment on the par 3 18th hole at Shipley Beckfoot Golf Club on Friday April 14th 2000.
Noting that a hole in one was required to win their personal match "Monty" swiftly ensured the correct club selection for his partner and offered the preferred route to the hole. By simply following these concise instructions the team took their place in the annals of Druids' history.
At this point we should also congratulate John "King of Nidderdale" Yates for his second win in the morning trophy and we should also congratulate Garry "Larger than Life" Irvine and Gordon "28 shots please" Beattie for their afternoon win in the Wurtheimer Cup.
Congratulation to Adam Pearson and Debbie Withnell (Pictured below) on the announcment of their engagement. Adam has ensured his many Druids friends that they shall see just as much of him after the wedding as they do now.
Details of the Stag arrangements, wedding list, dress code etc. can be seen on his personal website www.armadaponse.co.uk.
Those of you who believes that Adam has once more struck lucky should be reminded of the phrase "The sun always shines upon the righteous".
Congratulations to Richard (modestly acknowledging his feat below) for almost scoring his maiden century on the Monaco Tour. A bit more help from his team mates would not have gone amiss.
Congratulations should also go to David Croft for his comment to Mrs Porter (senior) on meeting and drooling over young Miss Gail Porter. The exact phrase was "well done mum!".
